This book is a fabulous guide that covers the process of admissions into the college sports world. As the parent of a son who thinks he wants to play basketball in college, this book was insightful and extremely helpful! We are already experiencing first hand how competitive high school sports are, and since academics are also important to us, this book gives great advice about how to strike the right balance for yourchild. Looking ahead at the college admissions process, I had the feeling of "not knowing what to do" , but after reading this book, I feel like we have process and a path to follow. Reading the book feels like talking to an experienced, trusted friend --- the tone is friendly, the examples feel genuine, and the advice is very practical. We will definitely be using this book as we approach the college process! Both parents and their college-bound child should read this indispensable guide. We hope that we can help our son win in the game of college sports recruiting........Put Me In Coach!

As a mother of three college students, I found this book a truly helpful
guide to the college recruiting process. Laurie Richter's candid tone and insightful comments unravel the mysteries of the college search.
This very comprehensive book would be an excellent resource
for any high school athlete.

"Laurie Richter does a masterful job of guiding families and their children through a very daunting and complex process. "Put Me in Coach" is an easy to follow, step by step resource that will breakdown the college athletics recruiting process into the critical components that will develop the organization skills that will get student-athletes on the radar screen of the college coaches."

Books, Videos, Magazines and now even Agencies have been created to bring light and attention to a student athlete to position them for scholarship opportunities and recruiting. Laurie Richter has moved beyond this small piece of the puzzle to portray the entire process from a parent's point of view; from balancing academic performance with athletic to understanding financial obligations, 'Put Me In, Coach' leaves no stone unturned. This is truly a must have for any parent of a high school athlete.

This is the best book I've read on high school athletes and college recruiting. Ms. Richter gives much insight into determining if, and where your high school athlete should play sports in college. She helps navigate the muddy waters of what criteria you and your student athlete should consider (athletics, academics, social life) as you look at colleges, and then helps you figure out how to actually get there! I've recommended this to everyone I know with a high school athlete, as well as a college counselor friend of mine. I think Ms. Richter has done a great service to high school athletes and their parents by writing this easy to understand book!
